Safety

The highest quality job can only be achieved with zero lost time accidents.

In the years of 2001, 2002, and 2003, there have been “ZERO” lost time accidents on a JMR construction site.

JMR Construction Corp. has implemented a comprehensive written Health and Safety Plan, which includes an Accident Prevention Plan. These plans have been approved by the Army Corps of Engineers and reviewed by the OSHA Consultation Division for compliance to all applicable State and Federal requirements. Included in the plans are:

  • Safety Responsibilities & Lines of Safety Communication
  • Hazard Communication Plans
  • Drug & Alcohol Policies
  • Procedures for Reporting Unsafe Conditions
  • Fall Protection Plans
  • Respiratory Protection Plans
  • Confined Space Plans
  • Forklift Operation and Training
  • Electrical Lockout and Operation Plan
  • Safe Power Tool Operations
  • Heavy Equipment and Vehicle Operations Guidelines
  • Crane Operation and Rigging
  • Hazardous Materials Removal and Disposal Procedures
  • Procedures for the Identification and Use of MSD Sheets

Because of our commitment to safety, we will not work with subcontractors who have average or poor safety records.

Every project is unique, thereby creating unique hazards. JMR creates specific Accident Prevention Plans for each project it does. Each project has its own unique plan developed to fit the circumstances. A site specific safety officer is appointed and trained. Daily inspections of all aspects of work are conducted with a written summary of the results of those inspections. In addition, JMR employees and the employees of its subcontractors are required to attend weekly tailgate safety meetings.
